Sewing to strengthen our pincer grip

The children sewed around the first letter of their name. Turning the material over and going through and back was quite challenging. Everyone persisted and were able to go all the way around.

Firemen Visit

Room 11 have been learning about how to be firewise. We have practised 'get down, get low and get out' to our safe meeting place on the field.  The children can discuss what objects are tools for adults and toys for them.  We have learnt about smoke alarms and what we need to do when we hear one go off. The firemen were very impressed with our knowledge !

Week 2 - Mrs Wishy-washy, car races and math games

Mrs Wishy-washy as a big focus for our children this week as they drew pictures and told stories about her and the animals on the farm. Lots of great creative writing came out of it.

With Miss Ravindran and Mrs McIntrye both away towards the end of the week, we thought the car rally wasn't going to happen...and then the rain set in on Friday! Mr McFunn came to the rescue and we made our very own ramp for the cars to roll down. This activity was helping children to make sense of the mathematic principle of probability...who was going to win?

We played maths games to help us build our number knowledge too.
